1. The Pacific NorthWest Economic Region (PNWER) recently implemented a NAFTA Modernization Taskforce with representatives from each of PNWER's U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions. PNWER is a statutory organization chartered by the Canadian provinces and territories of Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan, and Yukon, and the U.S. states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
The Taskforce has been formed in light of renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and will look at developing an overarching list of principles and recommendations for a modernized NAFTA. PNWER is focused on the U.S. and Canada relationship, but this survey may be distributed more broadly.
Please take a few minutes to complete the following survey. It is not necessary to answer every question. Feel free to skip any questions that are not relevant to you. Responses to the survey will be aggregated and non-attributable to any responder.
Survey results and comments will be submitted in response to the Canadian government's request for public comment, so please submit the survey before July 10th. Results from the survey were aggregated and submitted as public comment to the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) on June 12th in response to the USTR's Federal Register Notice asking for public comment.
Survey results will be analyzed and discussed at the PNWER Annual Summit July 23-27 in Portland, Oregon.
If you have any questions, please contact Nate Weigel at [email protected] or 206-443-7723.
